BIOGRAPHY: OMAR URESTI

Uresti was a member of the PGA Tour in 1995-2000 and 2004-06. He dominated the Nationwide Tour in 2007 with a victory at the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship. He finished with six top 10 finishes and earned his PGA Tour card for 2008 by placing in the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list.

Uresti played in 22 PGA Tour tournaments in 2006 and had two top 10 finishes. He tied for third at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. The result match his best career finish (1997 Bay Hill Invitational) and earned him $359,600. He also placed tied for fourth at the B.C. Open. for his 12th career top 10.

Uresti was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Organisational Communication in 1991. He converted nine consecutive birdies during a victory at the 1994 Shreveport Open, which still stands as a Nationwide Tour record. He was the 1985 Texas Junior Champion and scored a hole-in-one at age 8. He is named after actor Omar Sharif and is nicknamed "O-man."
